about our unique baby clothes
Hello and welcome to Hand Picked Pumpkin!
Our story goes a little something like this…
When my youngest son, Pierson, started crawling and cruising I noticed he moved
around much better in the few pairs of comfortable knit pants that we owned. Don’t
get me wrong, he looked adorable in his trendy jeans and cords but they seemed so
very constrictive to his movement. So with his utmost comfort and some fashion standards
in mind, I shopped around for hip, modern knit pants to add to his wardrobe. Surprisingly,
I had a hard time finding clothes that matched our needs.
As I continually found myself empty handed, I was inspired to create a new line
of modern, stylish clothes based primarily out of incredibly cozy interlock knit.
It was a perfect time in my life to start a new business. I had just recently left
my career as a project manager for a corporate real estate developer and was in
search of a more creative direction.
With the help of some very talented people, I put the wheels in motion for my new
cozy line of stylish baby clothes. I was determined to create patterns that were
equally cute for both little girls and boys. (If you’re a mom of a boy I know you
appreciate why…) So as you shop at Hand Picked Pumpkin you’ll find most designs
can be purchased for either gender. I also wanted to make sure that my hip and cozy
baby clothing would be as individual as the child wearing it. Each child is unique
so their clothes should be unique as well. Therefore, each of our unique baby clothes
can be customized with your creativity and baby’s personality in mind. For those
of you who are not ready to customize, ready-made options abound.
Hand Picked Pumpkin was founded on the belief that companies need to make decisions
that will better both their community and environment. Since its initial launch in
2006 Hand Picked Pumpkin has made a commitment to reducing its environmental impact
in as many ways as possible. One substantial step includes forgoing fanciful gift
packaging. Other green efforts include contracting with local seamstresses, purchasing
domestic materials, recycling, using non-toxic cleaning products and incorporating
energy efficiencies in the design studio.
My line of fashionable, functional and unique baby clothes is ready to be hand picked
by you. The customization is incredibly fun and the clothes are so chic and comfortable
you’ll wish they came in your size!
